Dr. Leonard Miller developed The "Natural" Surgical Facelift following his 25 years experience in facial rejuvenation. This increasingly popular surgical procedure incorporates modern techniques to resculpt and tighten the lower face, jawline, and neck. There is no effect on the mouth and little pull on the upper aspect of the face resulting in a more "natural" look. Scars are mostly hidden around the ears.

The operation is safer, less extensive and better tolerated than other traditional facelift procedures. The deeper layers are also tightened helping to achieve significant and long lasting results.

A surgical approach to the neck with an incision under the chin is sometimes of benefit. Liposuction is also often indicated to help improve the overall appearance of the neck and jowls.

While the "natural" surgical facelift provides an overall lift to the neck and lower face, significant results of the entire face can be achieved by combining this procedure with other non-invasive techniques such as Botox®, fat injections, other fillers (Restylane®, Juvederm®, Radiesse®, etc.) and laser treatments.

The procedure takes two to three hours and varies from patient to patient depending on the complexity and number of areas being rejuvenated. Almost all the facelifts are performed under local anesthesia in Dr. Miller's fully accredited state of the art surgical suite at Brookline Place. Discomfort is minimal and the patient leaves the office after a short postoperative period.

Recovery is rapid and some degree of bruising and swelling is to be expected. This will resolve in 7-10 days. Activity is limited in the first week following surgery avoiding strenuous activity for 2 weeks. Most patients return to work within a week.
